Description
A flag large vase from Seguso Vetri d’arte original scavo collection. The white textured scavo makes the vase a perfect accessory for any home.
This is a great Scavo piece from the 1980s. Scavo finish with metal applications. Albarelli, the owner of Seguso Vetri d’Arte worked the wonderful Etruscan collection with the designer Vittorio Rigattieri. He took an entire pavilion at Macef, at the time the leading fair for home accessories.
Gorgeous heavy scavo piece. Blown glass and bronze top. A statement piece for the collection that started the scavo era and made Seguso Vetri d’Arte worldwide known.
The vase is ribbed and shows the scavo texture at its best.
Maurizio Albarelli made Seguso Vetri d’Arte great after it almost disappeared. He had young Pino Signoretto and brought to Murano artists and Designer. He was first to introduce importers and retailers to the Murano world. Vittorio Rigattieri created for him the Scavo collection which became a new trend. He used first mixed media with brass castings to finish the products.
