Pauly exhibit of Signoretto translation of De Marchi was in Saint Mark’s square in Venice, April 2000.
This is a Livio de Marchi famous design in wood, only one glass maestro could take the challenge to reproduce his iconic design in glass, and such a great result.
An unbelievable collaboration among artist of different media, made for Pauly.
Pauly had a shop in San Marco square, every time I was in Venice I visited his shop. It was divided in two parts, a classic ones with pieces of the Murano tradition, the artistic part instead had every time exciting proposals. I have seen this sculpture there.
This is number 0/9 and stayed in the shop. 0/9 stands for artist proof or prototype.
I tried to catch the details. It’s a masterpiece.
A collector’s piece, either of De Marchi or Pino Signoretto.
Signed ” 0/9 Pauly dis Livio de Marchi by P. Signoretto ” on the inside of the flap.
