Two vases from the “Crepuscolo” series , ca. 1935–1936.
These are probably from a later period.
This finish is made enclosing metal fibers in the glass and than working the mass of glass to create a marbelization effect. The reaction of the metal with glass creates random bubbles that are enhancing this natural finish. Ercole Barovier worked in metal inclusions to create various finishes like the Efeso, Barbarico, Eugeneo, Laguna gemmata with copper. Primavera and so on.
Evalutation, no signature on the base, I am attributing for safety to a later Barovier and Toso production.
Complimentary transportation to North America and Europe.
Small difference in measure. One measures diameter 25 (10in approx) and is 39,5 cm tall (15 1/2 approx). The other is 26 cm diameter (about 10in 1/4) and is 37,5 tall (about 15in)
