Boxed seating with piping. Curved back shown well on pictures. Great carving work. The back legs are slender and have a beautiful design outline. The front legs are triangular with round back. Seat overhangs over the legs. Quintessential mid-century modern construction.

Assignment: Frame shows typical Melchiorre Bega back construction with the X. The triangular section of the front leg confirms modern version of mid-century style. Melchiorre Bega later modernized the design eliminating the X . Typical chair made by skilled Brianza ebanista maker. I am assigning this to the mid 1950s because of the completely innovative design.
Evaluation. By complexity of work and rareness of the group and the perfect restoration.

Excellent. The color of the chair is dark brown. On pictures might appear black but is not an ebonised finish. Wood grain shows and it was the purpose of restauring this piece. .
