A set of six sculpted mahogany dining chairs. The chairs were fully restored to eliminate any wobbling, French polish finish and reupholstered with Alessandro Bini tuscan woven FLOU velvet.
The chairs are attributed to Guglielmo Ulrich. Other dealers are assigning this design to Guglielmo Ulrich. The carving and the beautiful change of section, from flat on the top to square on the seat to round at the lower tip, shows incredible skill and taste. The horizontal parts on the back are just a piece of art, see the detailed pictures from side view.
I’m assigning this chair to the late 40s. The back is absolutely Mid-Century Modern while the front leg still shows a slender but Classic silouette.
One chair has been reupholstered in blue shiny velvet from Alessandro Bini’s tuscan woven selection. Belts replaced.
Fully restored by expert ebanista to eliminate any wobbling and make the frame firm.
